I feel so much gratitude for the happiness that Christian Science has brought into my life, that I am writing my testimony in the hope that some one may be helped and encouraged by reading it. I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, as I was very well, except that I had frequent attacks of serious throat trouble and very bad colds. These, however, I considered inevitable. I began to attend the church services and to read in a desultory sort of way, with the thought that Christian Science might help my mother, who was practically an invalid; but for nine months I could not understand it enough to bring it into my daily life at all. Then a great difficulty arose that I could not meet in a material way, and in desperation I turned for help to the little I knew of Christian Science. My need was met almost immediately, and this showed me so plainly the all-power of God that I needed no further incentive to make an earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Soon after this experience I had an attack of scarlatina, which was overcome in two days with absent treatment, and which left no after effects, though I did not stay in bed at all.

For four years now I have not touched medicine of any sort, and seldom need help for physical ills, as my throat is quite strong and colds are much less frequent and are very quickly overcome. I never fully appreciated the power of Christian Science, however, until a short time ago, when my mother passed on. All the dread of separation and death seemed lifted from me, and I realized that "the spiritual real man has no birth, no material life, and no death" (Science and Health, p. 288). With the small understanding I have gained I have found greater happiness than I ever thought possible, and my outlook on life is quite changed. My greatest desire is to be the means of helping others to find this truth.—Vera Hill, Chelsea, London, England.
