Nearly two years ago my situation was called to Christian Science. . .
Nearly two years ago my attention was called to Christian Science by an acquaintance in our village who had been wonderfully healed of a malady of long standing which had been pronounced incurable. At that time I was slowly recovering from a severe stomach trouble, asthma, etc., from which I had suffered for a number of years. I consented to have a Christian Science practitioner from Auburn, Maine, come to see me, but I had no faith in the treatments, as I had not studied into Science in the least, and in fact had no desire to do so. Nevertheless I was led in spite of myself to know what God and Christian Science can do when properly and divinely demonstrated, for I was permanently healed of my ills.
From my earliest childhood I have had religious training, thanks to a dear father and mother; but although I attended Sabbath school and listened to the best of religious instruction, I was never satisfied in regard to some very vital points, as I thought of them in mature years. The atonement as explained by all evangelical denominations was a great stumbling-block, until I read Science and Health, when order took the place of chaos, harmony of discord.
I can truly say that Christian Science has brought into my life more peace, happiness, and love than I ever experienced in any other belief, and the Lord's Prayer has taken on a new meaning since I became acquainted with Mrs. Eddy's spiritual interpretation of it.
