It is with a feeling of deep thankfulness to God that I give this testimony. My son, on his way home from school one day, tried to jump on to an auto truck. He missed his footing, however, and fell, the back wheel of the truck passing over his knee and legs. A few days previous to this, there had been a boy killed in this neighborhood by a wagon, and the schools were so aroused that various reports of my boy's death or permanent injury were speedily circulated.

The boy had been in the Christian Science Sunday school for four years, consequently he and I went to work to realize that "matter cannot be inflamed," and "in Science, no breakage nor dislocation can really occur" (Science and Health, pp. 414, 402). His whole body seemed bruised and discolored, but he felt no pain or fever, and he slept and ate normally. The next day was cold and rainy, so he did not try to go to school, but the following day, after dressing, he went for a ride on his bicycle. He missed one day and part of an afternoon from school, but he prepared the lessons in bed. He limped for a couple of weeks, but did not feel any pain, although the knee was seemingly twice its size and both legs were badly bruised. This condition, however, was also overcome, and the healing was perfect and permanent. When fear tried to creep in, this thought came forcibly to me, "Be still, and know that I am God."

I consider it a privilege to have had this experience, as it brought out much good, both for the boy and for myself, by proving to us God's omnipotence and care. Our gratitude is unbounded for our understanding of this truth, made possible through the study of the Bible and our Leader's writings.—Mrs. J. A. Jameson, South Omaha, Neb.
