I wish to express my thankfulness to God for the good...

I wish to express my thankfulness to God for the good health which I now enjoy as a result of Christian Science treatment. For about fifteen years I suffered from rheumatism, sometimes so severely that I could not straighten up for weeks. During that time I was attended by three prominent physicians of the city in which I lived (Manchester, N. H.). When I asked one of them to change the medicine, as it was not helping me, he replied that it was beyond his power to help me.

Three years ago I became interested in Christian Science. I had absent treatment for a week at two different times, and I now feel so well that I sometimes forget that I ever had such an ailment.—Etta A. Peaslee, Bedford, N. H.

I beg the privilege of stating, through these columns, the rather remarkable manner in which I embraced Christian Science. Through environment and a lax code of morals, I became addicted to the liquor habit when a mere lad. Despite the prayers and entreaties of my family and friends, I continued in this course for twenty-five years, going from bad to worse. Six years ago I asked a friend for something to read, and in looking through his library I noticed a small black book entitled "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Never having heard of this book, I supposed it to be a medical treatise, but on examination I found it to be a religious work. I then started to ridicule its teachings, but finding something therein which held my attention, I continued to read. From that hour the desire for liquor left me for all time, and with it profanity and all the attendant evils which beset a man that drinks.
