New York Tribune
There is no publication in the country whose praise of the Tribune's new guarantee we value more highly than that of The Christian Science Monitor, from which we quote an editorial [see Monitor, Nov. 18] elsewhere on this page.
The Monitor is not only a national journal of wide influence. It is a paper of the highest standards of news, editorials, and advertising, a leader in the movement toward clean advertising. It has demonstrated to the satisfaction of the advertising world that it is character, the standards and ideals of a publication, and not merely circulation, which gives advertising value. It has rigidly supervised its advertising columns, and excluded everything save what was clean, honest, and truthful. It is one of the newspapers in the United States which could give the Tribune's guarantee without fear of disaster. We appreciate its approval, and gladly acknowledge our indebtedness to its courageous policy of clean advertising.
