I am indeed glad to add my expression of gratitude for the help received through Christian Science. Since childhood I suffered from what the physicians defined as a nervous stomach trouble, which during the latter years took the form of gall-stones. Five years ago the attacks became so severe that I was bedridden for six months, and weak heart action having set in, the physicians believed in the necessity of an immediate operation. Two days before the operation was to be performed, a friend from out of town called on me and expressed the desire to ask a local Christian Science practitioner for treatment in my behalf, to which I gladly consented. Absent treatment was given the same night, and for the first time after a long period I had a sound sleep, lasting several hours. Then I woke up suddenly, with a peculiar stirring sensation in the body, and my first thought was that this might mean the end; but after a while I experienced such freedom and well-being that I felt I must wake up my people and tell them of the wonder that had occurred.

The next morning the kind practitioner came, and with four weeks' treatment, including the elucidation of the glorious teachings of Christian Science, I was enabled to go out of doors, and even to start on a journey. I also partook of all kinds of food, something which had been impossible for thirty years. When after four months the same trouble tried to manifest itself, it was quickly overcome, and other minor troubles have had to yield to the power of Truth. Almost five years have elapsed since my healing, and I have felt better during that time than ever before in my life.

I may say, therefore, with the apostle: "God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, . . . and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." My heart goes out in thankfulness to God for all the blessings which the understanding of the saving truth has brought me, and I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science.—Frl. Georgine Kast, Stuttgart, Germany.
