My heart overflows with love to God, and gratitude to our faithful Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the blessings I have received through an understanding of God as Love, made possible by the truth demonstrated in Christian Science.

In early life my health was not good, and as the years went by I became very ill, often being confined to bed for weeks, and was almost constantly under the care of physicians. Finally I was told I could not live six months unless an operation were performed and an abnormal growth removed. I had had two operations, both considered less dangerous than the one now contemplated; but I had a horror of the suffering attending such ordeals and could not willingly consent to another. Again changing doctors, I was treated for some months, occasionally feeling better, but never receiving any permanent relief. As time went on my illness seemed to be more severe, and I would have attacks of heart trouble, when stimulants were resorted to as the only relief. The spine, too, became affected, and again an operation was proposed, to remove the lower joints. My stomach gave me much trouble, and great care had to be taken as to my diet.

At this time Christian Science was brought to my attention by our daughter, who had received help through treatment and had seen many demonstrations of its power over error. I went rather reluctantly to a practitioner, but felt relief after the first visit. I was given nine treatments in all, some of them being absent, and was healed. My old troubles are no more, and with the understanding gained by the study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, we can gladly go on to victory over all error, daily growing in grace and in the knowledge of divine Truth. Our little grandchild was also healed of acute lung trouble when the help of physicians seemed unavailing.
