The American Medical Association got a rebuke when two previous officials of that organization made light of the Christian Scientists because of their mental treatment of sufferers from the Omaha tornado and Dayton flood. Something more substantial is needed "when death rides in the wind and on the waves," said the medics. The Christian Scientists, ever on the alert to defend their cause, came back with the published statement that their church contributed almost one hundred thousand dollars in funds for the relief of the storm victims, whereat the medics must observe a discreet silence and let the public judge of a cult that gives so freely when "death rides in the wind and on the waves."
