After being in Christian Science over two years I wish...
After being in Christian Science over two years I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings received from its teaching. I was healed of nervousness and sleeplessness in the first few treatments. Then the chapter on Prayer in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" brought a great uplift, and gave me a better understanding of the following chapters. Subsequently a sense of fear and loneliness was overcome, for my husband, who is a traveling salesman, was away much of the time. Last, but not least, was the demonstration I had of the power of divine Love at the birth of my child, for the time of travail was brief and there was very little pain, showing that with God all things are possible. Christian Science has been a great help to me in my home, giving me strength for each day's duty. For all the good I have and expect to have, I thank Christian Science and our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whom the truth has been given to all mankind.
Mrs. Emma C. Sloan, Peoria, Ill.
It is with a heart filled with gratitude that I give my testimony to the healing power of Truth. I took up the study of Christian Science in search of a cure for the drink habit, after I had tried in vain for five years to overcome the same with so-called liquor cures, each of which left me in a worse condition than I was before. Through Christian Science I was healed in one treatment. Not only was I freed from this habit, but also from the use of tobacco, to which I had been a slave for years. Again, I have laid away glasses which I had worn for eighteen years. For some years I had been troubled with rheumatism, often losing from one to two months in a year through being unable to work; but I have had no sign of this trouble since my healing. Further, I have been healed of a rupture, have been protected in times of accident; in fact, I can now say that I look to God in every need, and never in vain.
