AMONG THE CHURCHES

CURRENT NOTES.

Memphis, Tenn.—On Sunday, May 4, the congregation of First Church of Christ, Scientist, opened the doors of their newly completed auditorium. The final completion of this church structure is the culmination of years of faithful endeavor. The building, which is an unusually striking piece of architecture, fashioned along classic Greek lines, is situated at Dunlap street and Monroe avenue, overlooking Forrest park. The seating capacity is about seven hundred and fifty, and the total property, including the furnishings, represents a value approaching one hundred thousand dollars. The lower story, which has been occupied for about four years, will be used for the Sunday school. The congregation has grown rapidly, and the members expect to see such an increase as will necessitate in the near future the erection of another structure in some location where the overflow can be accommodated.—The News Scimitar.

Aurora, Mo.—The Christian Science Society of Aurora appears to be in a flourishing condition; they have leased quarters in the Tooker building, 206–A Madison avenue, where services will be held regularly every Sunday forenoon at eleven o'clock, and Sunday school at ten o'clock.
