In grateful recognition of what Christian Science has...
In grateful recognition of what Christian Science has done for me I desire to tell others of the many blessings I have received. Over two years ago I had a nervous breakdown accompanied by sleeplessness and melancholy of the worst kind. The doctors told me that it would be months and perhaps a year before I would be myself again. I took electrical treatment for months, and after that failed to bring any relief they began to give me a great deal of medicine, but I continued to grow worse.
I told my husband that I was going to stop taking medical treatment, as it was of no use. I was ready to give up in despair, when he asked me to try Christian Science, and about a week later I decided to do so. I went to a practitioner and took a treatment, but when I left I told her I would not be back. That night, however, I slept all night without waking, which was my first night's sleep for weeks. I began to feel very different and was glad for even one night's sleep, so I went back to the practitioner, and in two weeks I was a well woman. My healing was beautiful, and with it came a sweet peace. To say I am thankful does not express my feelings. I am grateful for the inspiring sense of Truth it brings us, the knowledge that God is "a very present help in trouble." The Bible and the text-book are now my daily companions. Truth has brought so much joy into my life that no words can express my gratitude to God, also to our beloved Leader, who so faithfully and lovingly has given the world this message of Truth.
