I wish to bear witness to what Truth has done for me. In 1897 I became a sufferer from what was pronounced a disease of the hip-joint. About this time my first baby came, and for months I was in a most hopeless condition. The disease presented itself again before the birth of my next three babies, so that it was necessary for me to have an operation each time. The last one was in 1903, when the spine also had become diseased. At this time three different surgeons pronounced my case tubercular disease of the hipjoint and spine, and as soon as I had recovered from the operation a change of climate was advised, as my lungs were diseased.

In 1907 we moved to Watsonville, my husband thinking the change would benefit me. We had been there but a short time when my father visited us and gave me a copy of Science and Health, telling me it was the key to the Bible. I shall never forget the joy and peace that came to me from the reading of this book. I was healed in one night of the lung trouble, also of a bowel disorder from which I had suffered since childhood. I began to study the Lesson-Sermons and other literature of Christian Science, this giving me a better understanding of the Bible. I have had two children born since coming into Christian Science, but have had no return of the disease, for which I am very grateful.

Words are inadequate to express my love and gratitude to God for His goodness to me. I now realize more than ever how much we owe Mrs. Eddy for the divinely authorized way shown us. It is true that God is ever present and with Him all things are possible.
