It is a good thing to testify to the healing power of Truth. While attending a Wednesday evening meeting, and listening to the many expressions of gratitude for healing received from the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, it suddenly came over me that to testify thus was to fulfil the law of Love, to help our fellow men in every possible way to throw off this bondage of error. Always before this I had been filled with fear. Whenever I so much as thought of standing on my feet before such a large audience, but moved by love for my fellow men, all sense of fear disappeared into nothingness and I was able to give my testimony. If those of us who have been afraid will realize that it is not only a duty but a privilege to do all in our power toward the regeneration of mankind, and that to testify is an act of love, I am sure we will lose all sense of fear and be able to give our testimonies effectively. The hungry will thus go away filled with a new hope, a stronger faith, and a higher sense of divine Love.

I am truly thankful to God for all that Christian Science has done for me, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, whose courage in the face of seemingly endless obstacles is a noble example for any one to follow. The blessings I have received are very many, and all have come to me through a knowledge of this healing truth. I have been helped in a number of ways. I was healed of a stomach trouble without being treated for it. All at once it dawned upon me that I no longer had any trouble with my food. In the case of intense headaches I was helped wonderfully. I have also had several instances of the protective power of Truth. While riding a motorcycle some time ago, a dog rushed out and attempted to seize my leg. I was paying attention to him when I heard the vigorous clanging of a street-car bell, and on looking up found myself confronted by two street-cars and a large express wagon. One car was standing still, but the other was coming rapidly down the street and the express wagon blocked my way. An accident was seemingly unavoidable, because I had speeded up to get away from the dog. Just at that instant it flashed into my consciousness that "accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and ... under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (Science and Health, p. 424). My machine swerved to the left of the car which was standing still, then around it, and I passed between the two cars, one moving and the other stationary, without a scratch. While going between the two cars, I was conscious that my elbows touched their sides.

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science, and hope to show my sincerity by doing my best to live its teachings.
