Christchurch, New Zealand.—We have enjoyed the great pleasure of a visit from Bliss Knapp, who lectured here on Sept. 6 to an audience of over seven hundred. The people who attended the lecture were earnest seekers for the truth, those who went from pure motives, and they were rewarded by the beautifully clear statement presented. I have lived here all my life, and understand the people, and am sure that the lecture has done a great amount of good. I have heard business men say that it was "an eyeopener" to them, and that even had they gone to find flaws there were none to be found. Ours is a very argumentative community, but no letters appeared in our papers in reference to the lecture, it having passed by without controversy, but we have found increased inquiries for our text-book and other Christian Science literature since the lecture. We want to be a church, for we have earned it by years of patient working and waiting, and we also want a lecture every year, and I know we will have both, since in divine Love there is no limitation and in divine Love is our abiding.
