I feel it a duty, also a pleasure, to tell others what Christian Science has done in our home. The reading of the testimonies in the Sentinel has been such a help to me that I trust my testimony may be of help to others. At the time I asked for Christian Science treatment I was suffering physically, also from a deep sense of sorrow. It was wonderful to me how quickly Truth healed my sorrow and helped me to look at things in a different way from what I had been doing. I was healed instantly of rheumatism in the shoulder and arm. I also had a very severe fall, and was healed from its effects after several treatments. Besides this, I had worn glasses for years and had been told by a specialist I would always have to use them; but, while reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I laid them off, and have never needed them since, my eyes being perfectly strong.
The demonstration in the instance of our baby was wonderful. Up to the time she was four months old she was very sickly and delicate, unable to retain nourishment. We then put her under Christian Science treatment, and in a very short time she was healed. She is perfectly well and happy all the time, being now three years old. I am truly thankful to God for the truth that makes us free; and thankful for the clearer understanding of God which Christian Science gives us. I have also a better understanding of the Bible, and it is a pleasure for me to read it now, whereas it used to be more of a duty than a pleasure. I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all her writings, which have lifted me above the troubled sea of mortal belief, and it is my desire to press on and gain a better understanding of Truth.—
Mrs. E. C. Van Vlerah, Ada, Ohio.
