About two years ago material means and medical aid...
About two years ago material means and medical aid failed in my case. Physicians and sanitariums held out no hope for me, and the former would make no promise as to the possibility of my being benefited. I was told that I had a severe lung trouble which was beyond cure. Medicine was given me in order to afford relief, and I was only allowed to eat light food, which often I could not retain. Besides this, I suffered repeatedly with severe hemorrhages from the lungs. Failing to find help, and being unable to do farm work (I am an agricultural laborer) because of my weakened condition, I naturally was not in a position to earn any money. At that time a kind Christian Scientist advised me to go to a practitioner, and although I felt very poorly I went to Breslau, in order to call upon the practitioner, who kindly took up my case.
After the first treatment I experienced immediate improvement both as to strength and appetite, and all good came to me. My recovery seemed to be retarded by the thoughts of those who knew nothing of divine Science, and I was sent by the doctor of our workingmen's association, to whom I had to submit, to a sanitarium at the expense of the National Insurance Association. I went there, though not with the thought of being healed thereby, as I knew that God would help me. I relied upon Truth's omnipresence and held fast to the thought of the omnipotence of divine Love and Truth, knowing that this alone meant help for me. I soon improved in strength and weight and enjoyed a good appetite. Upon leaving the sanitarium I was again able to take up work, and now I am in possession of my former working ability and perfect health. I rejoice and thank God, also our revered Leader most sincerely, for all the good which has come to me through Christian Science,—
Adolf Friedrich, Creisau (Silesia), Germany.
