I can no longer refrain from expressing my gratitude for...
I can no longer refrain from expressing my gratitude for the blessings I have received through Christian Science, which meets every need in my household, solving business, social, and servant problems as well as keeping the family in perfect health. Through Christian Science I have learned that right thought is reflected in right conditions. Our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says, "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts" (Science and Health, p. 261). As we learn to reverse the testimony of senses with the facts of Science, material sense testimony proportionably diminishes.
I first turned to Christian Science for the healing of severe headaches, which at that time were so frequent that I was seldom free. I was healed in one absent treatment, and almost instantly I felt my thought rising above the ailment until I was completely free. The next need I had for treatment was when my second baby was born. The first one had been born in a hospital with the best physician in the city in attendance, but the conditions were such that I was told another like experience would mean death.
In the mean time I learned in Christian Science that all things are possible to God. I began the study of Science in earnest and studied diligently. When the second child was born I was alone, but was without pain. My husband returned about ten minutes later with a physician to give the necessary attention. I sat up in bed for a few days and then went about my household duties as before. I had absent treatment for one week. The baby is now over three years old, has never taken any medicine, and he is a healthy, robust boy.
