Christian Science healing differs fundamentally from all...
Ottawa (Kan.) Republic
Christian Science healing differs fundamentally from all other methods of practice; its activities are mental, it deals wholly with spiritual cause and effect, therefore its basis is divine, not material. All Christendom accepts Christ Jesus as the master physician; his treatment of disease was metaphysical; his knowledge of existence was divine, his anatomy and physiology were spiritual; thus he said: "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" And again he said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."
The ministry of the Master was one of healing. The gospels record many instances of his healing the sick, the dumb, the blind, the lame; of casting out devils and raising the dead. Then he said: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." Christian Science is the Word of God spiritually understood and demonstrated; it is an exact science because it has a Principle and a rule for its demonstration.
