Today, when the public press throughout the world is proclaiming the great achievements of our noble Leader, I wish to bring the simple tribute of two instances of healing that came within my own personal experience some years ago, and which to me illustrate what she has said of our Master's work in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 200): "It was the consummate naturalness of Truth in the mind of Jesus, that made his healing easy and instantaneous."

As a child I had a severe attack of lung trouble, which left a very distressing cough, and at the time when the difficulty was most alarming I accompanied my mother, who had been called East to attend a meeting of the association of our Leader's students. One day, while calling at Mrs. Eddy's home for mail, I was seized with a hard paroxysm of coughing. I had spoken with our Leader a moment before, as she passed through the hall to a conference with one of her students in an adjoining room, and this gentleman told me, a few days afterward, that when Mrs. Eddy heard the coughing she paused in the conversation and closed her eyes for a few moments in silence; then, with a quiet smile, continued. When he repeated this to us, we suddenly realized that the trouble had entirely disappeared.

The other experience was a year or so later, at the close of a class which my mother attended. I was stricken down suddenly with a very distressing hip trouble, and for days the suffering continued, apparently growing steadily worse until, becoming alarmed one morning, my mother arose before daylight and hurried to our Leader's home for counsel. She had a few moments' conversation with Mr. Frye in the hall, as Mrs. Eddy was still in her room; but later she told my mother that she had heard her conference with Mr. Frye, and seeing the great need had immediately realized the truth for me. The result was instantaneous healing, so complete that within a few days I was enabled to take a journey of fifteen hundred miles from Boston to my home.
