Los Angeles (Cal.) Record
In the Record of the 6th I read an article about the sufferings of the morphine users in being unable to get the drug, and also the trials of one endeavoring to break the fetters of the habit. It was a testimony to the generosity of one doctor and the efficacy of his remedy. It seemed to me it was printed by the Record in a humane desire to help the poor "dope" fiends.
Allow me to testify that I have been healed of diseases and habits that had brought me to the verge of suicide and utter despair, and brought to where I can now work every night at my trade (linotype operator) without fatigue. This has been accomplished through Christian Science, which is every day healing the worst cases of drug and liquor habits, as well as other ailments.
There are scores of Christian Science practitioners in Los Angeles who will gladly treat these poor "dope" addicts, and will not ask if they have money or not. The reading-rooms, 704 Herman W. Hellman building, are open to visitors, with plenty of literature for free reading.
