Actuated by a sense of deep gratitude, I wish to testify to the wonderful power and love of God as revealed to me through Christian Science. In August, 1909, our family doctor and two of the best surgeons in New York informed my wife that she must go to a hospital for an operation, which would necessitate the removal of several organs; and that, if this were neglected, she might not live many months. Preparations were partly made and the time set for the operation, but before the day arrived we were persuaded to try Christian Science. We consulted a local practitioner, and from the very first treatment, on Sept. 1, 1909, my wife began to improve. In three months she was healed, and is now strong and well. She is also able to demonstrate the power of divine Truth not only for herself but also for others. Our daughter was healed of kidney trouble of long standing, which had baffled the efforts of several good physicians. In my own case, I have been cured of several chronic ailments and of the appetite for tobacco. I had worn glasses for twenty years, but discarded them six months ago without the least inconvenience.

For twenty-five years I was an active church-member, serving on the official board; was superintendent of the Sunday school, etc. During all these years, however, I failed to acquire a satisfying concept of Deity, and was as one groping in the dark. I was continually praying for light, and in our extremity God was revealed to us through Christian Science, and now all things are becoming clear and plain. Since my wife was healed, we have joined a local Christian Science church, also The Mother Church.

Naturally, we are deeply grateful to our heavenly Father, also to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all these blessings; but they are not the only, nor even the highest benefits we have received, for we have all experienced a great spiritual uplift. Old and erroneous opinions are being corrected, and the Bible has become to us an open book; the allness of God is now a reality, and the stronger becomes the desire to have that Mind in us "which was also in Christ Jesus."—Frank L.
