Newark (Ohio) Express

The dignified reply of the Christian Scientists to the attack on their doctrines by — the evangelist, should be compared (to show the great contrast) with the evangelist's talk (it cannot be called a sermon) of last Sunday. His attack on Christian Science was uncalled for. The members of the Christian Science Society in Newark are some of the most respectable and influential people in our city. They conduct their meetings in a quiet, unobtrusive manner and never go begging for funds from the public. They surely have as much right to believe in their doctrines as he has to believe in his. We are not sufficiently acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science to form an opinion, but we like fair play in religious matters as well as in all other things.
