Gratitude for the great blessings which have come to me...
Gratitude for the great blessings which have come to me through Christian Science impels me to testify to having been healed of a severe nervous and heart trouble, also of mental depression. A physician of high repute for nervous diseases, in Frankfort-on-the-Main, made an examination some seven years ago, and I was induced to go to a sanitarium, where I experienced temporary relief. About three years ago, however, I again dropped into such a state of mental misery that I lost all hope of ever improving. I had discontinued my work for a period of six weeks, seeking recovery through a sojourn on the Zurichberg, when my attention was called to Christian Science by a friend in Zurich. I tried this method reluctantly and with a sense of distrust, but soon saw that Christian Science alone could deliver me. My wife had in the mean while also turned to this teaching, and was healed of an abdominal trouble of years' standing within a short time; and this, as well as the healing of a child of acute lung trouble, furnished me with further evidence.
Next to God I owe the recovery of my health to the activities of divine Truth, to Mrs. Eddy's efforts in behalf of mankind, and to the stead fastness of the practitioners, as well as to the articles in Der Herold der Christian Science and the other Christian Science literature in German. The moral enlightenment, however, means much more to me than the attainment of health.
