The Christian Science Publishing Society of Boston has...
San Diego (Cal.) Herald
The Christian Science Publishing Society of Boston has compiled, in book form, the editorials on the life and work of the late Mary Baker Eddy. The compilation is designated "Editorial Comments" and contains the expressed opinions of the thoughtful editorial writers of America. The book is neatly printed and will furnish pleasant reading for members of the Christian Science faith. It will also be profitable reading to those who scoff at all religions, and also the members of other faiths who are unduly devoted to their own creed.
The achievemetns of this remarkable woman will be recorded in history as among the great events of the century in which she lived. Even history, which will be the expressed opinion of one winter, and one possibly of her own faith, cannot give the reader the same true estimate of the real merits of Mary Baker Eddy and her work as does this compilation, which is the expression of minds trained to measure men and events from an impartial standpoint.
There is nothing to indicate whether the book is gotten out for general sale or only to be sent to those who may be interested in this faith. However, it would be a valuable adjunct to any library. Not as throwing light on the faith or philosophy, but as the contemporaneous opinion of the merits and achievements of a remarkable woman.
