I am indeed glad to give thanks to God for His many blessings, especially for the truth which heals all our diseases if we trust in Him. I suffered for three years from an illness said by doctors to come from a relapse after an acute attack. I would be in bed from one to two days, with great distress in my head. Nothing would give me relief except hypodermics, and those for just a little while. The doctors said I might never get over these attacks. I got much worse, suffered in all my body, and could eat very little. I determined to consult another doctor, but he said he could not cure me, that he could only build up my system, and would have to perform an operation for a growth on the stomach which later he said was malignant. I told him I would take his medicine, but would never submit to an operation. I took the medicine, but it did me no good; in fact, I suffered more than ever, so that I could not sleep or rest.

I then met a Christian Science practitioner, who told me that God did not will His children to suffer, and that He had the means to heal me if I would trust Him. I was looking for some material means, but I told the practitioner that if she could do me any good, to treat me. She did so, and I never felt such a sense of rest in my life; I slept like a child from one week's treatment. I attended the Wednesday meeting, also went twice Sunday. All said I looked like a new person. My husband was suffering greatly from an injury to his back sustained some thirty years before. It had given him a great deal of trouble, and material remedies had been of no benefit. After my healing he consented to have absent treatment in Christian Science. The treatment helped him physically, and also made some financial and other troubles easier to bear.

The study of the Bible and Science and Health, with the Lesson Sermon daily, also the Sentinel, with its weekly messages, and the Journal have helped me more than tongue can tell to overcome many difficulties. I am striving daily to help others, that they may not grope in the dark as I did. Glory be to God that He led me to the truth by the overcoming of suffering. I thank God, and also the unselfed Leader who showed us the way to the Christhealing. I will try to follow, and give God the praise.
