It is impossible for me to enumerate all the blessings...

It is impossible for me to enumerate all the blessings that have come to me in Christian Science, for which I have reason to be grateful, but I shall endeavor to state the more important ones. The exactness of this invariable rule of right is to me the most comforting phase of this Science. We very soon learn that just in the ratio we apply the Principle and rule we get results; that God, good, is no respecter of persons; that it is not our emotion, our pleading, but our clear understanding and knowledge of Principle that accomplishes results. In multiplying we use our knowledge of the rule, and by industriously continuing the application of the rules of mathematics we may persevere until we become qualified mathematicians. In every case, in so far as the rule is faithfully applied it cannot fail to produce a correct result.

When I had been in Christian Science only a few weeks I was healed of a bowel disorder from which I had suffered all my life. In a half hour, through realizing that there is "no inaction, diseased action, overaction, nor reaction" in divine Mind (Science and Health, p. 428), the ailment of years was overcome and relief was almost instantaneous. After this proof I knew that the Principle of Christian Science is mighty and the rule operative, and I have been endeavoring to apply it in my daily life. I have made mistakes, but each mistake has helped me to see the reason for it, which has invariably been that I have leaned too much to mine own understanding and not enough on the divine. At the time of this healing I was tempted to call in a practitioner, but I reasoned that God is everywhere present, He was with me, and I had no need of other help. I then repeated the "scientific statement of being" (Ibid., p. 468), and knowing that there is no inaction in Spirit, the help came.

Not long since I applied the Principle and rule of Christian Science in the case of a severe headache with almost immediate results. When I went home from the office in the afternoon I could hardly hold up my head, and when I entered my room I locked the door and seated myself with Science and Health. I kept on reading, and in about an hour I had completely forgotten that I had had a headache and went singing down to dinner. How grateful we should be to know that "Love never faileth," that the law of God is operative now, recreating the universe, that there is nothing that can hinder the perfect working out of the real man's perfection. When we think of our blessed Exemplar, Jesus the Christ, who overcame the world, and even when the hatred of the Pharisees resulted in his crucifixion proved once more the truth of what he had affirmed; when we think of our Leader, of how she toiled on alone, bearing her precious message of the healing power of Truth, and of her meekness and patience with the myriad manifestations of mortal mind in one form or another, it ought to make us individually more humble, more willing to wait, working patiently at today's lesson, leaving the results to infinite Mind. Let us rather rejoice in the full fruition of the work of our blessed Master and the great spiritual awakening consequent on the present declaration of this Science, and be grateful.
