Elisabeth (N.J.) Journal

It is none of our business, of course, but those who see in the New York hotel proprietor who died under Christian Science treatment "another victim of Eddyism" may as well recall that persons under treatment by followers of the dominant school of healing have been known to die from malaria and ptomaine poisoning. Whether the patient would have recovered under any treatment is a question which any one may answer to suit himself. In any event, the deceased was during his lifetime a man of greater ability than is possessed by most of his critics, judging from the success attained by him in business matters. He may have been mistaken, perhaps he was, but it is only fair to give him the benefit of the doubt.
