[Written for the Sentinel.]

LOVING AND LIVING

As the window, clear and bright,
Letteth in the warmth and light,
Bringing gladness to the sight,

Make my thought, O Love divine,
Pure, that Thou through it may shine,
Making one of Thine and mine!

May no stain, or blot, or blight
One least ray deflect from right,
Dim the brightness of Thy light.

All the light which I receive
May I freely, gladly give;
Thus it is to love and live!
