AMONG THE CHURCHES

The congregation of Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, yesterday [Oct. 31] purchased a site for its proposed new church building on Prairie avenue, 166 feet south of 113th street. The church has been gathering a building fund for some months, and having purchased the lot, intends to begin building soon.—Chicago Record-Herald.

The most important incident in this field for the past year, and indeed for several years, is the purchase of an exceptionally beautiful site for the larger church building which will soon be needed to house the rapidly increasing congregation of First Church of Christ, Scientist. The spacious lot lies in one of the handsome sections of the city, and is located at the intersection of Kirkwood boulevard and Grand avenue. During the past few months the attendance at both Sunday and Wednesday evening services has been such that it has been necessary to place extra chairs wherever possible in the auditorium, and also seat a goodly number in the reading-room adjoining. The purchase price has been fully paid and plans for the new church building are now in preparation.—Correspondence.
