THE LECTURES

OMAHA, NEB.

A lecture on Christian Science, under the auspices of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, by Bicknell Young of Chicago, was given at the Orpheum Theater of this city, Thursday, June 17, to a large and appreciative audience. Mr. Young was introduced to the audience by the Hon. C. J. Greene, a prominent attorney of this city, who said in part,—

I do not think there is any force in modern life which has lifted and is lifting so many men and women into the realms of peace and comfort and joy, as Christian Science. It operates directly and immediately upon the sick, the weary, and the hopeless, to rescue them from their intolerable burdens. There is nothing mysterious about it. Its inspiration is in the most simple and elementary fact in life. It is this: that God is not merely an idea, a sort of working hypothesis, but that He is, or should be, a vital force in each individual's life and experience.
