With a grateful heart I testify to the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. From early childhood I suffered much from nervous debility, to which was added a stomach trouble that caused me great pain whenever I ate, and I could scarcely retain any food. This trying disorder had tormented me for about two years, when God led me to meet a Christian Science practitioner who is now in Dresden. She explained to me that God is Love, that Love creates good only, and that therefore I could eat anything without fear. This was said with strong conviction, and I felt that it must be true. Clad with this faith, I began to eat even of those dishes which otherwise seemed least to agree with me; and it was like a miracle, for I immediately found myself better. This was five years ago, and since that time I can eat freely of every kind of food, and I have never again felt and such trouble. The nervous debility also has ceased to torment me, and during the past three years I have taken upon myself a heavy obligation which I could not have fulfilled without the recognition that God is the source of my strength. I have also had further proofs of the truth in being able to help my fellow-beings.

Thus I have come to the conviction that the truth still heals today as it did while Jesus was on earth. I formerly believed in and read the Bible, but not with the understanding which I now have. I greatly enjoy reading the Herold, and I take much pleasure in learning to read Mrs. Eddy's wonderful book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." How I rejoice over every sentence which I understand! I did not know one word of English formerly; in fact, knew German, my mother tongue, only, I wish I could tell all my fellow-beings that for me "old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." I cannot thank enough our heavenly Father, also Mrs. Eddy, that I have gained this understanding of Truth.
