Like so many others I have been delivered from the...

Like so many others I have been delivered from the sufferings of years through Christian Science. I had much sorrow and care because of a son who was sickly from early childhood. We went from one physician to another. He submitted to operations repeatedly and had medical treatment constantly. This care for my only child, and the anxiety and fear which I experienced, made me wretched. I felt a constant heavy pressure in the head, so that it seemed impossible for me to think clearly. Nearly every week I had an attack of headache which would keep me in bed, and my stomach, too, was very much affected.

Through an acquaintance I heard of Christian Science and also began to read Der Herold. We applied to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help for my son. He was helped temporarily, but later on his old complaint, a wound behind the ear, where he had been operated upon, began again to trouble him, and he spoke about making a trip to see a physician. I decided instead to go to Dresden, so as to get more information about Christian Science, and I requested a practitioner there to treat my son. So far as he was concerned, however, the lady advised me to talk it over with him first. The next day I made the trip home, strengthened and comforted by all I had heard.

Since that day I have been absolutely well; none of my old troubles have returned, and although treatment was not given to my son directly, all his old complaints disappeared within a short time. The Christian Science practitioner held fast to the truth that all the misery and the sickness of the past years were only dream-shadows, which had never existed in divine reality, and this truth freed myself and my son at the same time from the load which had weighed upon us for fifteen years. I cannot thank God enough that I have found the truth which has been revealed to all the world through Mrs. Eddy.
