I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me and my family every day. I have had so many blessings from this truth that I would like to relate some of them in thankfulness to our heavenly Father, the one great and only power. One night, about two months ago, I was awakened by a sense of severe pain, and I could swallow only with great difficulty. I had suffered in this way at different times before coming into Christian Science, the attack usually lasting several days under a physician's treatment, and then the throat had nearly always been lanced. When morning dawned I arose, and as soon as possible I sent to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. In the mean time I continued to work at my household duties, and about nine o'clock I noticed that I was no longer suffering. I had been so absorbed in my work that the pain had vanished unnoticed, and I was greatly surprised to find that nearly all the swelling was gone from my throat. I ate my breakfast with very little difficulty, and by the end of the day there was no sign of the trouble. Truth had not been long in reaching and destroying the error.

At another time, a few months before this, my son was brought home unconscious, suffering with what a doctor said was appendicitis. The doctor worked over him for hours, but was not able to give any relief from the awful pain, so the next day he came prepared to operate. I, however, dismissed him, after a long argument, and sent immediately for a Christian Science practitioner. In fifteen minutes after the practitioner had given my son treatment, he was free from the terrible suffering and had fallen into a refreshing sleep. He had several lighter attacks of pain during the day, but with Christian Science treatment they were successfully met, and he was soon healed. He had always been a sufferer with stomach trouble, more or less since infancy, but since this experience he has enjoyed the best of health, and eats whatever he likes with no thought of bad results.
