About seven years ago my little boy, then nearly three...
About seven years ago my little boy, then nearly three years old, was terribly reduced in flesh, as he had suffered all of his life from stomach trouble. Our family physician had exhausted his remedies, when a Christian Scientist asked me to let her take care of the child for a while. She seemed so earnest and so positive that I decided to trust her. I laid aside all material remedies, and in a few days the child's food was properly digested, he gained flesh rapidly, and never since has he been troubled with any of those symptoms. This same little fellow had his thumb badly injured from a fall. The Scientist, who was present, lifted the child up, set him on a stool, and asked him if he did not know the verse, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." He replied, "Yes." She then told him he should use both hands, and "fear no evil." He obeyed, and the thumb resumed its natural position. That was the end of the trouble.
Through the understanding of Christian Science my concept of God as a corporeal being has changed to a demonstrable faith that God is a loving ever-present Father, to be acknowledged and understood. During the past seven years all of my troubles, physical, financial, and mental, have been overcome through the application of Christian Science. Often the work of healing has been instantaneous, that is, in the case of physical ailments. I lovingly submit this testimony, and could tell of many more blessings which have come to me through obedience to divine Love, and to the teachings of our Leader.
