It is with the greatest pleasure that I submit my testimony...
It is with the greatest pleasure that I submit my testimony to what Christian Science has done for me, trusting it may help to guide some brother on the upward way. I first became interested in Christian Science through the healing of my sister from a long-standing case of eye trouble. I am indeed young in Science, having been interested in this healing truth for only about a year and a half. It was in the autumn of 1906 that I had a serious fall while pole vaulting, and it was over two months before I was able to do anything at all. Even then the doctors told me that I would undoubtedly be troubled with a weak back many a year and perhaps all my life. All that winter I was seriously troubled; so much so, in fact, that in the spring I was obliged to discontinue all work.
At this time a friend advised me to try Christian Science, and finally I did try it as a last resort. I took treatment for nearly two months, the healing being rather slow, yet when it did come I was more thankful and joyful for what this truth had done for me than words can express. Soon after this I was also thoroughly healed of a longstanding eye complaint, for which I had worn glasses over twelve years. For all of these and many other blessings I am truly thankful to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her wonderful book, Science and Health.
Frank S. Hornbeck, Chester, Conn.
