I am so filled with gratitude to God that I feel I must impart some of the blessings which I have received and which I am receiving every day through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Before this understanding of Truth came to me the Bible was a sealed book, but now its teaching is so simple that a child could understand it. I have been a student of Christian Science for ten years, and my first demonstrations with the children were marvelous to me, such as the overcoming of colds, coughs, etc. But there were still greater proofs of the power of divine Love in store for me. I have had the experience of a painless birth, and we have a lovely boy, now nearly four years old. I received absent treatment at the time, and the doctor who was called in was so surprised at the result that he asked how it had come about. I was very happy, and wanted to tell him all, but remembering Jesus words, "See thou tell no man," I answered "God did it." I was perfectly well after the birth, but remained in bed three days to please my husband and the nurse, who were not Scientists.

Another proof of the power of divine Love which was wonderful to me, was the healing of our little girl. When six years old she was completely helpless. I called in a doctor to diagnose her case. He said it was paralysis, or possibly an affection of the spine, and that she might outgrow it; but his expression conveyed more to me than his words. I was simply heartbroken for a few moments, then I turned to God, whom I had already proven to be my helper in time of trouble, and I saw that this was only another trial of my faith. I called on a Christian Science practitioner in Jacksonville, and for eight long weeks I was never out of sight of the child, as she seemed to be afraid of everything and was so drawn and so thin that I dreaded to have any one see her; but with the help of the faithful practitioner all this was overcome and she was once more a lovely child; even her eyes seemed to be larger and more beautiful. She is now eight years old, and no sign of the disease has ever come up since that time. I have never feared for a moment that it would or could return, knowing that "Truth, Life, and Love fill immensity and are ever present" (Science and Health, p. 504), and that disease is nowhere, is neither person, place, nor thing. She finished in the first and second grades at school last year, and received a certificate for being neither tardy nor absent a day during the term. We have also had three severe attacks of acute lung trouble overcome in our little family.

We have service here on Sundays in a private house, but this winter we shall be compelled to have larger quarters down town, as so many tourists are coming in. I certainly appreciate Mrs. Eddy and what she has done for the world.
