Being "compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses" to the power of ever-present Truth to destroy all forms of error, discord, or disease, of whatever name, I feel prompted to add my mite of testimony to some of the good that has come to me through Christian Science. While there is a similarity in each individual's experience, each may express his appreciation of the infinite goodness with words peculiar to his own individuality, and thus, to quote Paul's words, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit." Whatever the human belief, we find that man, the image and likeness of God, remains ever the same, unchangeable and inseparable from his creator.

I will relate a demonstration of the power of Truth, and simple though it may appear, it proves the power of God to heal all erroneous beliefs, such as pain, inflammation, etc., even when mortal mind seems to be trying to enforce its so-called law. I was up in a tree, chopping off a limb, which was about twenty feet long, green, and very heavy, being about six inches through at the point where I was cutting. As the limb broke it fell with its full weight about three feet, landing upon my right foot. It struck with considerable force, and it seemed as though my great toe was crushed. I did not yield to the temptation to look at the toe, but kept declaring the truth to the best of my ability all through that night. The next morning a chance look revealed the fact that the toe was perfectly black, but there was scarcely and pain. I continued to work mentally, and the result was satisfactory,—a normal condition was soon in evidence in every respect,—even to the nail, which to me seemed remarkable. The day preceding the above demonstration I had trouble with a tooth,—my gums were very painful and the tooth was aching severely, according to mortal mind,—but in this case, too, Truth relieved me of that trouble. So complete was the demonstration that next morning I felt as though the trouble had never been.

These are but two out of many proofs of the healing realized through Christian Science, for which I find that words can give but a faint expression of the gratitude I owe to God, and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has given us the "Key to the Scriptures" and the rule by which to apply the power of Truth to our every need. Constant study of the Bible and Science and Health during the past twelve years has been to me a source of joy and peace which the world cannot give, neither can it take it away.—J. E.
