I became interested in Christian Science in 1899, and in October of that year I was healed of a dreaded fever and lung trouble in the first treatment. Not only was I healed of these diseases but also from the smoking and drinking habits and from the use of profane language, for all of which I am indeed most grateful. I cannot express myself in words as to what Christian Science is doing for myself and my family. It has brought my dear wife into a better understanding of man's relation to God, and as for myself I am trying to live the Christ-life daily. My wife was healed in one day of serious lung trouble through the little understanding which I had of the truth. For the last seven years Christian Science has been our only medicine and we trust in Truth for all our needs. For the many demonstrations of the truth that I have had I am indeed thankful to God; and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for bringing this new-old religion to us. I am striving to live worthy to be called a Christian Scientist.
