About four years ago I became interested in Christian Science...
About four years ago I became interested in Christian Science through reading its literature. At this time I was suffering from a severe cough and had great difficulty in breathing, and I also had chronic bladder trouble. The physicians were unable to help me, and had told my family that my age—seventy-eight years—made it impossible to offer any hope; that my heart was simply worn out, and that there was nothing to be done. One night I was taken with an acute attack of bladder trouble, and although the pain was excruciating I decided to test the truth of Christian Science. A practitioner was called, and in less than twenty minutes after her arrival I was asleep, awaking the next morning free from this trouble. It had taken the physician two weeks, calling twice a day, to meet a similar attack a short time previous. The cough and heart trouble yielded within a few months.
I can truthfully say that in my four years in Christian Science I have found it able to meet my every need. I am most grateful to our Leader for this religion of hope that frees us from the bondage of age as well as disease and sin.—Wharton R. Clinton, Indianapolis, Ind.
