About four years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention by a dear sister, and I began to investigate it for myself. Not living near her, I inquired among my friends concerning this faith, of which I knew nothing save the name, and even that meant very little to me. As a result of this lack of knowledge I was led to study so-called mental science literature, and I never saw the textbook of Christian Science until I had become somewhat prejudiced against our dear Leader and her writings. However, my sincere desire for the truth led me to the Christian Science services held in the city of Evansville, Ind., close by, and a practitioner of whom I inquired the way soon showed me the error to which I had been subjected. I put aside all unauthorized literature and began the earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which I now consider the most valuable book, aside from the Bible, published for the religious instruction of the world to-day.

Prejudice soon melted away, and grateful, heartfelt love for our Leader took its place, thus proving the power of Truth over error. I found man's relation to God as His spiritual child, and the healing for a diseased body, which I had hopelessly given up as the prey of supposed hereditary laws. A condition previously diagnosed as rheumatic trouble was entirely healed two years ago. Two children have been born under the most harmonious normal conditions, the second being an almost perfect demonstration of painless birth. I was down-stairs in less than twenty-four hours, around the yard the second day, and doing my own work in a week, my maid being called away. I suffered no ill effects whatever from so doing, proving once more that God's laws are all good, and that He does protect us in Christian Science from the asserted laws of materia medica and physiology. Having previously suffered much from continued illness and weakness following such conditions, I feel that I have reason to be very grateful for Christian Science.

Every day brings a more fervent desire to express through greater spirituality my thanks to God for such a consecrated Leader as dear Mrs. Eddy, for the Christian Science publications, and for the privilege of being a member of the Christian Science Church, which is fast proving itself to be "the structure of Truth and Love" (Science and Health, p. 583). It has the corner-stone rejected by so many, the healing of the sick as well as the sinful. I wish to say that I look back upon years of service in an orthodox church, previous to this time, with gratitude for the help and experience which came therefrom, and which fitted me to grasp more quickly the higher thought given to the world through Christian Science.
