From childhood I was an earnest seeker for the truth, but when Christian Science was first brought to my notice, in 1891, it did not appeal to me. In 1892 I united with an orthodox church, and remained contented for a year or two, when doubts began to arise. I then read the denominational literature, thinking I might find there that which I had thus far failed to find. During these years I heard Christian Science discussed a great deal, having two sisters who were Scientists. It all seemed very consistent, but I went on with my search in other fields until 1899, when, after suffering for many years with colds in their worst form, and extreme nervousness, there was a complete collapse. I also suffered from aggravated female trouble, with its attendant ills, nervousness, extreme weakness, etc., and at one time did not leave the house for nine months. After two years I gained enough strength to walk a short distance, but this was the only way in which I improved, other symptoms growing worse, and I also commenced to have rheumatic trouble, from which I suffered a great deal. During this time I had tried various material remedies, including electricity, but instead of receiving relief I began to suffer with a severe stomach and bowel trouble. I then went to a health resort; but to no avail, as I gradually grew worse, and for a year my diet was reduced to bread thoroughly browned and rice.

At this time, which was November of 1906, I was again completely prostrated, and with no earthly hope. In this extremity I sent for a Christian Science practitioner. She told me to eat anything I wanted, which I did with a great deal of fear, but in a few weeks the ailments began to disappear. The practitioner advised that I commence wearing my ordinary clothing, something I had not done for eight years. I told her I would try, though I felt very doubtful about being able to do so, but to my great surprise I did this without the least inconvenience. I feel that I can never express half the good that has come to me, physically and spiritually. There is such a sense of peace, contentment, and freedom from bondage to so-called health laws.

The Bible, which was seldom opened for these eight years, is now, with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," my daily companion. I pray that my life may attest my gratitude for the truth revealed through Christian Science.—Miss Belle Park, Americus, Ga.
