A few years ago I became interested in Christian Science...

A few years ago I became interested in Christian Science through reading some of its literature, which had been given me by a friend. I enjoyed the reading and thought it very beautiful, but not seeing the need of the truth at that time, it was laid aside. Two years later, when in need of physical help, I turned to the truth, and have always found it a help in time of need. Our little girl, when five years old, was healed of what the physician pronounced a serious illness. She came in one day crying with a very severe pain in her side. She seemed to grow worse, and my husband, not being a Scientist, sent for a physician. All was done in the way of medicine that could be done, but with no improvement, so I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help. For a time the conditions seemed to remain the same, but after the fourth absent treatment she was relieved of the terrible pain and fever almost instantly, and there was no return of it whatever. She slept soundly that night and was well and strong in a few days. To me this was a most wonderful proof of the healing power of Christian Science, there being such a divided thought in the home; but the healing had been done, and my husband acknowledged that it was done through Christian Science. Another proof of healing was in the case of one of our boys, now twelve years old, of a fever. For several days he was seemingly very ill, so I called a practitioner, who came and gave him one treatment. That evening he was able to go out with us, and was entirely well the next day. This was three years ago, and he has been free from the illness since then.

One of the greatest helps that comes to me is being able to overlook any disturbance that comes up in the home,—see the nothingness of it and think only of the reality of good. For all the help I have received in Christian Science I am most grateful to God.
