It is with a thankful heart that I give this testimony of my healing of a trouble caused by my being thrown from a horse, being injured in such a manner that I could not walk or work in any comfort. I had taken treatment from a specialist, but without being bettered, and was growing worse. The doctor here told me it would not do to use the knife, as I could not survive an operation, so it seemed that I was left without hope. I had been in this condition nearly five years when my wife and I accepted Christian Science, as a last resort for her. I did not even suppose that I could be healed, but my wife asked the practitioner if she thought such a case could be healed in Science, and the practitioner replied that it could. Not thinking so much of my own case as of my wife's, I helped her to read and study the Bible and the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. It was not long before I noticed a change in my own condition. The enlargement gradually decreased, until now the condition is very nearly natural. This healing has been accomplished without any treatment whatever, simply through my daily reading of the Bible and Science and Health, and my trust and confidence in the truth, for I never doubted that Christian Science is the truth. Later I took treatment for an eruptive disease, and it soon disappeared. All of our five children have been treated in Science and the treatment has always been effectual.

We rejoice daily in knowing that God is good; that He sends no evil and no sickness upon us, but it is His will for us to be free. I hope to grow in spiritual understanding, and let what light I have shine daily, so that those around me may see this light and glorify our Father in heaven. I know we have found the true way, and I trust that I may be able to walk therein. I give thanks to God, and next to Him, to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
