After but two weeks' treatment in Christian Science I...
After but two weeks' treatment in Christian Science I was completely healed of severe stomach and bowel trouble, and several minor ailments, from which I had suffered many years. Not having been able to enjoy an ordinary meal for a long time previous to this, having lived most of the time on tonics and strict diets, I was rather skeptical when told by the practitioner that I might eat anything and at any time I cared to. I immediately essayed to put her words to the test, with the result that I found myself entirely cured and without a single symptom of the old trouble. While the healing from disease seemed to me wonderful at the time, it was followed by so many demonstrations of the continuous care of divine Love that I was encouraged to look into the channel through which I was daily receiving liberation from care and worry, as well as sickness. Through the study of Christian Science, the Bible, which until then had been a closed book, became a help in each problem. Attendance at the Wednesday and Sunday services has been a blessed privilege and a greater help than I can tell; it having been my experience that when in doubt as to how to work out a problem of any sort, whether physical, mental, or financial, some thought expressed during the service would seem to point out the way or offer a solution. Though it is five years since I first tasted of this water of Life, I have found this truth adequate in handling every difficulty which has presented itself. Times have been when it was necessary to ask the aid of a practitioner in overcoming error, but there have, too, been demonstrations met with what understanding I possessed of this Science of Being. After having been a slave to the use of glasses for nearly ten years, I was able, four years ago, to lay them aside, and have since been accomplishing even more work of the same nature than formely.
For these and many more blessings too numerous to mention, I am very grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has made it possible for us to enjoy all the benefits of Christian Science.
