I would add my all too feeble expression of gratitude...

I would add my all too feeble expression of gratitude for the understanding of infinite Love which is now mine, and which has been made possible by years of ceaseless labor on the part of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and given so lovingly by her for the furtherance of God's kingdom here on earth. About a year and a half ago, a dear friend who had been healed in Christian Science after having been given up by materia medica, recommended the treatment to my wife as a cure for troubles which had been a great burden to her for several years, one dating from childhood. In a few short weeks my wife was healed. Although regular attendants of an orthodox church at the time of our marriage, we soon gave up going altogether, as so many others have done. Yet we were not content. But after my wife's healing we visited The Mother Church, and very soon became constant attendants. Unknown to me the light of Truth was creeping slowly but surely into my life; and with it soon came recognition and the peace "which passeth all understanding." I am a traveling man, and now I deem it a great privilege to be able to visit nearly every Sunday and Wednesday, when I am on the road, some one of the many large and small Christian Science churches in our eastern States.

During the past year we have been able to demonstrate the truth many times; but sometimes it was thought best to have another to help our faltering footsteps, and of course Truth has always won, as Truth always must. I have had no remarkable healing, but the little demonstrations that I have been able to make day by day, with the "little book" as a guide, have been proof enough to me that God's kingdom is come, as we are taught in Science and Health. One I will mention, however, is the distaste for tobacco, which has been growing greater daily, after a steady use of it for nearly ten years, until now all desire for its use has gone. To-day this same light is breaking forth for another who is very dear to me. An unceasing flow of temporal blessings daily brings me happiness, but more to me than these last is the fact that I am beginning to comprehend that short but most beautiful statement, "God is Love." To those who contribute such helpful thoughts for our guidance and encouragement as are to be found in the regular publications and our other literature, and to all who have so quietly and lovingly dropped the seeds of truth into our ready hearts, I offer my simple word of gratitude. My prayer is that my life may attest my sincerity and resound God's praise.
