I desire to bear witness to the healing and saving...
I desire to bear witness to the healing and saving power of Christian Science. Three and a half years were spent in suffering from nervousness and abdominal trouble, during which time I dragged out a miserable existence. My physicians were kind and thoughtful, and tried in every way to relieve my condition. I submitted to an operation, but the suffering continued and I grew worse. A second time I was taken away for an operation, but after a consultation of eminent surgeons my case was pronounced hopeless and they would not perform the operation. When the physicians had gone, and all hope of relief from material means had fled, I made my appeal to Christian Science.
My case was placed in the care of a practitioner, and the first night after beginning the treatment I slept like a child, something I had not done in more than a year. The fifth day I walked several blocks to the practitioner's home. The following Sunday I walked ten blocks to church, abiding in the Scriptural promise that we "shall run, and not be weary;" "walk, and not faint." I could then say I was healed, and since that time, nearly one and a half years, I have continued well and strong. Eyeglasses, upon which I had been dependent for years, were removed and my vision was made clear and strong.
I am indeed grateful for this healing,—my restoration to life and health; but above all else I prize the spiritual awakening and the acquaintance with God which Christian Science has brought to me, and for all this I return thanks to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Mrs. Gertrude E. Mosher, Little Valley, N. Y.
