AMONG THE CHURCHES

At the regular semiannual communion of the Christian Science churches in this city yesterday [Jan. 12] approximately four hundred new members were added to the eight churches. This number, added to the number admitted at the communion services in July last, makes an increase in membership of more than twenty per cent for the year.—Chicago Post.

Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, in St. Louis, held its first service Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, in Rose Hill Hall, Maple and Hamilton Avenues, in the west end, with an attendance of about three hundred. Nearly all of those who were present had previously attended First Church, yet on the same evening practically all of the twelve hundred sittings in that church were taken, affording abundant and joyous proof of the rule in Science that as fast as room is made in our churches it is filled.
