I feel that the time has come for me to testify to the healing of a disease that seems to bring terror to a mother's heart. In November, 1905, my little boy was taken with fever and sore throat. A Christian Science practitioner was called and the little one was quickly healed. When my little daughter manifested the same symptoms, I again sent for the practitioner. She asked what was causing such a sense of fear in my thought, and I said it was fear of a serious throat trouble. She replied, "If that is the case, you had best have a physician diagnose it," and as my husband was connected with the school work this seemed a wise thing to do. The physician pronouned the case a dreaded disease. He called the health officer and we were quarantined. I should like to express here my appreciation of the kindness of this physician; no medicine was suggested, and the child's father was allowed to stay in another room and continue his work at the schools. Before the end four cases developed in the family, but all were healed by Christian Science treatment in less than two weeks; the work being done, except for the one visit,— absently.
I am thankful now to be free fear of this disease, a fear which before had been terrible to me. I also wish to express my gratitude to God, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all the blessings I received through Christian Science.
Mrs. Alpha D. Spaulding, Riverside, Cal.
