I wish to express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy
I wish to express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy. To the one for giving us a channel through which to renew the world's sense of Christ's teachings, and to the other for her unfaltering efforts to teach people to know God as He really is. Four years ago I was taken down with what the physicians termed the worst case of a dreaded fever which they had ever seen. They said that there was but one chance out of ten that I would live, and that they could do nothing more for me. My relatives were all sent away from home for fear of the contagion, thus leaving only my grandmother to take care of me. I sank rapidly into delirium, in which it seemed I would die, almost all hope being lost. Then grandma, who had been healed in Christian Science some time before, proposed that it be given a trial, so as a last resort my father sought a practitioner. When she arrived it was almost midnight, but by morning I was perfectly rational and the next day I was able to sit up. In five days I was up, dressed, and able to eat anything and everything I wanted. Of course I had to stay under quarantine two weeks longer, but there was none of the customary weakness.
Having so much to be thankful for, I again express my gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Frances Soules, Los Angeles, Cal.
