I first heard of Christian Science about six years ago,...
I first heard of Christian Science about six years ago, when it was presented to me by one of my wife's relatives. At that time I was not ready for the truth, and for over two years was very antagonistic towards Christian Science; but knowing that my wife was favorably inclined to it, I approached a brother traveler whom I knew to be a Christian Scientist and whom I always regarded as an intelligent man, and asked him if he would give me a few minutes' talk on this subject, as I was looking into it. After two hours' talk he thoroughly convinced me of the practicability of this religion, and that evening I wrote my wife that I was forced to admit I had changed my views and was going to look into the teachings myself. Christian Science has brought happiness, health, and success to me and my family. It has made a different man of me. The tobacco habit was overcome in one treatment; the taste for liquor, gambling, and all profanity also left me, and this truth has made me purer minded. Christian Science has also helped me in my business; I have been able to handle myself and my trade with understanding, and success has crowned my efforts. As a curative agent I find the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," indispensable; as I am continually on the road traveling, I have had many slight ailments, which have always been overcome by reading this book. We have had many beautiful demonstrations of the healing power of Truth in our home, and for these and many other blessings I am indeed grateful.
I desire to do all I can to further the Cause of Christian Science, and by living and reflecting the truth I know I shall be the means of bringing many of my fellow-travelers into this blessed understanding of the truth of man's being.—J. O. Lorimier, New York, N. Y.
